Simpsons Question about Apu and mystery child?

OK I have no life and it is Spring Break. I decided to pass the time by watching the entire Simpsons from Season 1 episode 1 to the newest. I am on season 4 episode 3 (Homer the Heretic). This is before Apu gets married or has any kids. However when the Simpsons house caught on fire Apu (the fire chief) has a child (i assume his son) watch the quick e mart. I was just wondering if there were anymore episodes with this kid and who's kid is it.
